Alvin Files has a varied legal practice with emphasis on real estate, contracts, business transactions, probate, and estate planning. Alvin is now in private practice again after serving for many years as the city attorney for the City of Ada.
Alvin has extensive experience in
real estate title examination, negotiation and drafting of contracts, and
general civil practice. He is also certified as a mediator for both civil and
family/divorce mediations.
Alvin received a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Oklahoma where he was chosen to become a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received a Juris Doctorate degree with special distinction from the University of Oklahoma. Alvin also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, with honors, from East Central University in Ada.
Alvin is admitted to practice in the federal courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma and in the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Pontotoc County
Bar Association, the Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys, the Oregon
Bar Association (presently inactive), and the Marion County (Oregon) Bar
Association.
